en mi casa (11/20/2015-11/29/2015)

I finally got to go back home for a week! I had such high expectations of arriving and eating all my favorite foods like in n out and king taco, BUT I got the stomach flu the day after I arrived. I was heartbroken because I had to cancel plans to see some of my favorite people, but at least I was puking my brains out at home and not in the communal restrooms of my residence hall hahaha!!!
Nonetheless, I still had lots of fun lounging around with my family (& dogs!!!) and just catching up. It was so weird to me that although I miss my family, I didn't get all that sad saying "see ya later (mostly because i'll be back in 3 weeks tho). It just felt really really weird being back home not necessarily being with my fam but just the overall environment. As soon as I got back to SF I just felt so comfortable and good. Being home was nice, but being back in the bay is awesome. San Francisco really does have my heart already and it's awesome being able to live somewhere as beautiful and liberal as it is here. I forgot what it was like being in my small hometown where everybody knows who everyone is because they've lived there since birth, whereas it's just weird for me being there because I don't particularly like many people (high school sucked butt) and I just moved there 3 years ago. Being here is me being able to be me 100%, no hiding any bit. I'm still shy & still adapting to being more "out there" but for the most part I'm having hella fun, yo!!! Anyways, yeah being back at home made me realize there was a lot I was filtering when it came to my personality, so I'm glad that I'm slowly learning to accept me and be happy with who I am :-))))). So yeah here's a pic of me on Thanksgiving, just a cute and comfy outfit for hangin' with fam!! Below are pictures of the rest of my week :)

Overall, I had a really nice trip, and I'll be back very very soon for winter break. I'm drowning in work since it's FINALS :( but I really wanted to get this up.

Thanks for reading!!!!

Sunday's are for...

A couple pictures of my room as it was a very lazy sunday.

San Francisco sure is lovely.

As of today, I am 4 days away from going home for thanksgiving break. This past month has been a continuous countdown as I get ready to see my family & friends, of which whom I have not seen for 3 months!!!!! It's so crazy to me that I have managed to be on my own for 3 whole months. It hasn't been easy, there's been a lot of stress, anxiety, and tears throughout this all, however, there's also been lots of adventures and fun!! Here's a couple of pictures of different spots in SF :)

A view of my school.
Karl the Fog taking over.
One of my favorite spots on campus.
Lake Merced.
Chinatown!!
Union Square.

Somewhere in the Mission District.
The Castro (such a cool place!)

Pier 39 (really crowded but still cool!)
Ocean Beach (30 minute walk from campus!)
Somewhere near Haight St.
The Chapel in the Mission District (gr8 show!)
I've been lucky enough to have met an awesome group of people that I get to explore so often with! Before I moved out, I was freaking out over using public transportation and figuring it all out and now it's just a matter of remembering where the muni stations are or which bus to take, it's really not bad at all. Very excited to see my family (& MY DOGS!!) this weekend :).

About Me

Hello all! This is just a simple "about me" to get my blog up and running! My name is Jess and I am an 18 year old chica living in San Francisco, CA!!! I've only lived here for around 3 months as I am attending school in this lovely city, but I was born and raised in SoCal.
I wanted to start this blog to be used as a creative outlet for me as well as wanting to be able to look back on this in the future and recall my college memories. Yes, my url may not make a lot of sense, but hear me out. I would consider myself a very goofy person, and I like to make things funny, so instead of saying "okay" I say it backwards "yako". There is no word to better describe me than "okay", so that's the backstory to my name haha.
So, some fun facts about me:
1. I LOVE music!!!! I listen to sooooo many different bands and artists, & i'm so excited to make future blogposts about all the sick tunes I blast!
2. I like to thrift clothing.
3. I am an intersectional feminist.
4. I am a relatively shy person, but I'd like to think of myself as an good conversationalist.
5. There is always something on my mind. Always.
6. & I LOVE DOGS!!!
This blog is going to contain rambles, outfits, pictures of my cute friends and the amazing city I live in, and much more!  MUCH LOVE TO YOU ALL!!!
